Traveling through Sazava: castle, campfire and paddles in hand

On June 21-22, the HUB NUSLE youth team, together with the chief curator Ivan, went on a two-day summer adventure that combined history, outdoor activities and a lot of impressions.

We started our journey near Prague's main train station, from where we went to one of the most interesting castles in the Czech Republic - Sternberk. This castle is privately owned and belongs to the Sternberk family. During the tour, the participants not only saw unique interiors and collections, but also learned many interesting facts about its long history.

After an intense tour, we had a joint outdoor lunch and then went on foot to the camp. The road ran along picturesque paths that allowed us to fully enjoy the beauty of Czech nature.

We spent the night at the Kouzelník camp in the town of Kácov. Some of us chose tents, while others chose cozy summer huts. In the evening, we lit a big fire, roasted some goodies, shared stories, and even jumped over the fire to symbolically celebrate the Midsummer holiday.

The next morning, the main adventure awaited us - a canoe trip down the Sazava River back to our starting point. The participants learned how to skillfully steer the boats, tested their strength on the water and even managed to swim a little, jumping from the boats into the cool river.

This trip was a great opportunity to try new things, find friends and return home with warm memories and stories that we will remember for a long time.

We are grateful to everyone who was with us and look forward to our next adventures!!!!
